Intermec’s Small Rigid Tag (SRT) is a truly passive UHF RFID tag designed for superior performance on a variety of surfaces. The tag available in both EPC Global Class 1, Generation 2 (Gen 2) and ISO 18000-6B protocols, combines an impressive range with a rugged yet compact design, suitable for harsh industrial applications, and survival in application temperatures up to 250° F (121° C). Additionally, the small rigid tags have a wide band antenna design, which allows for a single tag to be used virtually anywhere in the world and on a variety of surfaces, including metal, plastic and wood.
The Small Rigid Tags are ideal for industrial applications where ruggedness, chemical resistance or higher temperature ratings are required and where tag size is an important consideration.
Typical applications include:
- Reusable plastic containers (RPC)
- Metal cages
- Pallets
- Unit Loading Devices (ULD)
- Gas cylinders
- Beer kegs & other commercial beverage containers
- Hazmat containers
- Chemical containers
Attachment Methods
The tags can be attached using screws, rivets, double-sided adhesive strips, or a variety of other methods appropriate for the application. Each tag has two mounting holes for up to #6 hardware (not included).
Reader Compatibility
Intermec manufactures a complete line of readers that are compatible with the small Rigid Tags as indicated in the table below.
